ABOUT
Growing up by the coast in rural Dorset, Duncan was initially drawn to landscape photography. Some of his earliest memories are loading film into a camera, taking photos of cliffs and the sea, and pleading with his parents to develop yet another roll of film.
At college, he started playing in bands and it was then that he started photographing other bands in the local scene playing live. Before long his work was featuring in the NME and Q Magazine. It was the portraits of musicians in those magazines that drew Duncan to start taking promotional photos for bands and a desire to learn about lighting that caused him to start assisting.
Over the last few years, he has developed a love for telling stories about people who are passionate and dedicated about what they do. He approaches each shoot with a blank slate and uses lighting techniques to draw out his subjects and subtly emphasise their surroundings.
